When we give something, it has to look attractive for better appreciation by the recipient of your gift. Of course, just by giving, it shows your concern or care for that person. However, you can make the gift more attractive by adding that extra golden touch to the gift. Your extra touch need not be expensive. Just make sure it would blend with the occasion and the personality of the recipient. Take for instance our regular fruit gift basket. We have been giving this gift to people who need a strong and friendly enlightenment from others when they're down or sick.
A fruit gift basket is a very practical item to give to those who you really care for and who also needs your attention. When you give one, try to add other items with the fruits to make your fruit gift basket more attractive. When it looks more attractive, it will surely have an uplifting impact on the recipient. Try the following ideas which could help you make your basket more attractive.
1. Before placing your fruits in the basket, line the basket first with a red doily or any decorative cloth big enough to slightly hang at the rim of your basket. Then, arrange your fruits, placing the green, yellow and orange-colored fruits first. The reddish or plum-colored fruits should stay on top of the other fruits. Next, make a bow ribbon from a 3" red ribbon. Glue it on the lower left side of the basket's handle. Add multi-colored artificial flowers and glue it around the ribbon. Then, stick some store-bought butterflies in different colors on top of the fruits.
2. If you're giving your fruit gift basket to a sick single lady, try adding a fish bowl with a pair of goldfish or other attractive fish of your choice. Choose a fruit basket with higher sides. Line the basket with a blue cloth big enough to fall at the basket's rim. Then, place the fish bowl at the center of your basket. Arrange the fruits around the fish bowl. Then, stick a mini placard into the fish bowl with the sign " I FISH YOUR SMILE...GET WELL SOON!" Don't forget to give her the fish food, too.
These are simple extra touches you can add to your fruit gift baskets and it doesn't cost that much. It will surely make your gift more attractive and personalized, too.
Giving a fruit gift basket is a way of saying "I care for you" and giving a chocolate gift basket to your spouse is also a way of saying "I love you. Order one now."

Unusual Christmas Gift
Christmas, as the song goes, is the most wonderful time of the year. There's just something about the season that makes almost everyone in high spirits. It's the time to choose and decorate the perfect Christmas tree, buy Christmas presents, and visit family and friends. It is also the time of sharing, giving, and letting people know how special they are for us. Since this is the time of the year where we are into shopping for gifts and presents, some of us are very particular with the gifts that we are giving to others.
But long lines in the malls and shopping stores can make buying Christmas presents frustrating. Plus there's the mind boggling process of choosing what to give.Shopping malls and thrift stores offer almost all kinds of gifts there is. Online stores can also give you a list of gifts you can give your family and friends. From personalized gifts, gadgets, vintage finds to gift certificates; from basic everyday items to unusual stuff. While some people will just randomly pick a gift, there are those who consider buying presents an art.
A Christmas card is thoughtful but it wouldn't hurt to be more creative. If your dad loves Reader's Digest, a year's subscription of the magazine would make his entire year. Or you can probably book your parents for a dinner in a fancy restaurant. Are you on a tight budget? Buy a book, a compact disk or a personalized coffee mug. If you like to cook, bake some cookies and put in jar. You can also let your creative side show by decorating the jar.
Unusual Christmas gift does not necessarily cost a fortune. You can even design or think of your own gift. What is important about the gift is it should come from the heart. It is not about the material things that are being given to someone every Christmas, it is the thought that counts remember?
No matter how big or small the present is, even if it is a simple things, as long as it is given wholeheartedly, the gift is worth for keeps. It is the essence of the season, and the thoughtfulness of the person that matters.
Gifts do not have to come with a pricy tag. My friend Elle's favourite memento is an old photo of her and her dad who passed on years ago. The corners of the picture are torn and the image is grainy with age. Last Christmas, her husband had the picture digitally restored. Not really unusual but nevertheless meaningful.
Simple things mean a lot to some.
You might think it is worthless, but they think its precious. It is up to you on how they will make your present worth for keeps. But no matter what you give, no matter how affordable, what's important is it comes from the heart. What is important is somewhere, somehow, there is a special season that made you remember of their existence, that is the Christmas season.

Emergency Gift Guide - How to Give Last-Minute Gifts
Can you think of a time when you realized almost too late that you needed to get a gift for someone? You were too busy. You forgot. You had no idea what gift to get and kept putting it off. This article will give you some ideas and strategies for dealing with the times when you need a last-minute gift. Some things you can do in advance and some are just for emergencies.
If it is an emergency then there are several things you can do. The first is go through some last-minute gift choices that require little preparation. The usual choices are chocolates, wines and flowers. These can be purchased at many outlets such as gas stations. Instead of wrapping them put them in a gift bag, this removes the need for sticky-tape, bows and ribbons. If you can, get the shop to wrap it for you. You could even keep a gift bag or two in the car if you do this a lot. If you do buy from somewhere like a gas station then try to remove any indication of the shop and price. A great last-minute gift for most special occasions is a bottle of Champagne.
If you have a little more time then consider a gift certificate or voucher. These can even be bought in advance. Then all that you need is a suitable greetings card. You need to ensure that the voucher has a good general choice of shops. You would want one from a big chain or a large local mall. If the recipient is on the Internet then you could even send the voucher electronically. Many large Internet sellers such as Amazon and iTunes have voucher schemes. If you do send the voucher electronically then you need to ensure that the method of sending is secure. It is better to print off the voucher and add a personal message. This shows that you have put a little thought into the gift.
To avoid the situation in the first place you need to have a list of all of the occasions for which you need to give gifts. If you use the Internet or a calendar then ensure that these events are listed with a reminder if possible. Some Internet calendar systems and smart-phones will give you a reminder of an event several days before.
Some people have a 'Gift First Aid Kit'. This is invaluable when you need to supply a gift at short notice. You need a drawer or box to hold your kit. The kit will contain emergency gifts, greetings cards, postage stamps, wrapping paper and the like. You will find this is useful for Christmas and Birthdays too as you will have everything you need at hand.
You should have a good selection of greetings cards for all occasions. You should ensure that you have some cards without specific messages so that you can always create a suitable card. If you forget or cannot get a gift then a card is always welcome and shows that you have not forgotten. You can say in the card that you did not want to send a gift in the mail and you will present it when you next meet. If you do this then you must ensure that you have a gift by then.
You can keep your eyes open for suitable gifts throughout the year. Look for clearance and sale items at places like outlet shops. Especially if the bargain is for a brand that the recipient will recognize and is of high quality. Examples are perfumes, toiletries, ornaments and the like. You will want to make a list of what is in the drawer. You may even find that you have a lot of your Christmas gifts when that time comes around. Note that if the items are there for a long time then you will want to check if there is a date beyond which they should not be used.
This article is intended to help you find those last-minute emergency gifts and help you to prepare in advance to make this sort situation easier to deal with. If all else fails a simple call or letter to say that you have remembered may be all that is needed.
